NORTON, Mass. — The Nichols College men's finished their regular season with a sweep taking a strong victory over Wheaton College (Mass.) this evening at Emerson Gymnasium.
Sophomore outside hitter
Adam Vincent led the Bison with 11 kills and surpassed Jack Normandan's single-season program record of 346, finishing the year with 348 kills. He also contributed three aces, five digs, and a block, hitting .429 on the night. Junior outside hitter
Bryce Bonville added eight kills, an ace, and two digs, while junior setter
Evan Sachs tallied 27 assists along with eight digs and three blocks. Sophomore right side hitter

Bradyn Pomainville provided key contributions throughout the match. As a team, Nichols hit .253, including a .303 clip in the third set.
The Bison and Lyons traded points through the early part of the set, keeping it close at 7-7. Nichols then went on a five-point run, highlighted by a Vincent service ace and two kills, to push ahead 12-7. Nichols maintained momentum with another four-point stretch, fueled by kills from Bonville, Pomainville, and Gavin, creating a 19-13 lead. Despite a brief push from Wheaton, Nichols closed out the set with a three-point run, including a Vincent ace on set point, to secure the opening frame 25-19.
The second set started with Nichols trading points early, tied at 8-8. The Bison then put together a six-point run, anchored by Pomainville and Bonville, to take a 14-8 advantage. Wheaton threatened late, narrowing the gap to 20-19, but Nichols responded with a three-point closing run, led by Vincent and Sachs, to take the set 25-22.
Nichols trailed 7-3 early in the third set but responded with a five-point run, keyed by Vincent and Pomainville kills, to tie the set 8-8. The Bison later went on a seven-point run, building a 17-10 lead as they took control. Wheaton rallied to cut the deficit to 23-22, but Nichols finished the set with a two-point run, including the final kill from Pomainville, sealing the 25-23 sweep.
Nichols returns to the court later this month for the second round of the New England Volleyball Conference Championship Tournament.
