BEVERLY, Mass. (4/20/2026) - 3:00 PM on Monday, Nichols College freshman Ezra Raphael was named Conference of New England (CNE) Rookie of the Week following a dominant stretch that helped power the Bison to three conference victories during the week of April 19.

Raphael played a key role in Nichols' perfect 3-0 week, contributing in both singles and doubles action as the Bison defeated Wentworth and the University of New England.

In doubles play, Raphael teamed up with Felipe Gonzalez at No. 2 and went a perfect 2-0 on the week, earning decisive wins of 6-0 against Wentworth and 6-1 against UNE . The pair consistently set the tone early for Nichols, helping secure the doubles point in each match.

Raphael was equally impressive in singles competition, posting a 2-0 record in completed matches. He earned a straight-set victory at No. 4 singles against Wentworth (6-1, 6-3) and delivered one of the most thrilling performances of the week at No. 3 singles versus UNE. After dropping the opening set, Raphael battled back to take the second set and dominated the match tiebreak to secure the comeback win (6-7, 6-1, 10-6) .

Men's tennis will return to competition in the Semifinal round of the CNE Tournament having clinched the No. 2 seed, hosted at Nichols College. Game start still to be determined on April 29th.
