Bison Bats Stay Hot in 10-4 Win Over Dean

FRANKLIN, Mass. (April 16, 2026) – The Nichols College baseball team jumped out early and never looked back, defeating Dean College 10-4 Thursday afternoon. The bats stayed hot, recording 10+ runs for the third straight game and now totaling 51 runs in the four games played this week.

With the result, both the Bison and Bulldogs move to 15-12 on the season.

Nichols wasted no time setting the tone, erupting for five runs in the top of the first inning. After Andrew Rocca reached and Ryan Keating drew a walk, Tyler Ladouceur brought in the first run with a sacrifice fly. The Bison continued to capitalize on a Dean error, as Julian Galvan delivered a two-run single and Nicholas Prince followed with an RBI knock to cap the five-run frame.

Dean answered with a run in the bottom of the inning, but Nichols quickly regained control. The Bison added a run in the third on a sacrifice fly from Jack Raymond before breaking the game open further in the fourth. Both Ladouceur and Raymond launched a two-run homer to extend the lead to 10-1.

Dean chipped away with single runs in the sixth, seventh, and eighth innings, but never seriously threatened as Nichols maintained a comfortable cushion. The game ended 10-4 in favor of the Bison.

Offensively, the Bison totaled 12 hits in the victory. Raymond led the way with three RBIs, highlighted by his home run, while Ladouceur also drove in three runs with a homer and a sacrifice fly. Galvan added two RBIs, and Prince contributed a pair of hits and an RBI. Rocca and Charles Macelhiney each recorded multi-hit performances as Nichols' lineup produced throughout the afternoon.

On the mound, Jordan Medeiros earned the win to stay undefeated and go 3-0 on the season. Medeiros tossed three innings while allowing just one unearned run on two hits. The bullpen combined to hold Dean in check the rest of the way, with Mitch Brown providing two scoreless innings and multiple relievers limiting the damage despite a few late runs.

Baseball continues conference play on Saturday, April 18th, when they travel to the University of Hartford for a doubleheader. The start time for the first game is set for 12 PM.
