Bison Drop Conference Matchup to Endicott

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Nichols College women's lacrosse team fell to conference opponent Endicott, 24-6, on Tuesday evening at Hempstead Stadium.

With the loss, the Bison move to 6-5 overall and 4-3 CNE, while the Gulls improve to 11-4 overall and remained unbeaten in league action at 8-0 CNE.

Nichols was led offensively by Kaylyn Bourque, who recorded a hat trick along with an assist. Madelyne Trimble added two goals, while Emma Patton contributed one to round out the scoring for the Bison. In net, Briar Slattery made three saves and reached a career milestone, recording her 300th career save during the contest.

Endicott came out firing in the opening quarter, using a relentless offensive pace to score 12 goals. The Gulls capitalized on early possessions and draw controls to quickly build separation. Despite the pressure, Bourque broke through with a pair of unassisted goals to provide a spark for Nichols, but Endicott carried a commanding 12-2 lead after one.

In the second quarter, Nichols found more rhythm offensively and generated additional opportunities. Bourque completed her hat trick midway through the frame, accounting for all three Bison goals in the half. However, Endicott continued to capitalize on turnovers and maintained efficiency in the attacking end, extending its lead to 16-3 at halftime.

The Gulls maintained control coming out of the break, continuing their offensive momentum in the third quarter. Endicott added four more goals while limiting Nichols' chances, holding the Bison scoreless in the period to take a 20-3 advantage into the final frame.

Nichols showed resilience in the fourth quarter, putting together a late offensive push with three goals. Patton opened the scoring in the period, while Trimble added a pair, including one off an assist from Bourque to cap the Bison attack. Despite the late surge, Endicott continued to respond and secured the 24-6 victory.

The Bison will look to bounce back as they continue conference play later this week, headed to Boston for their battle against the Rams of Suffolk University this Saturday, April 18th at East Boston Memorial Park.
