WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (4/14/2026) - The Nichols College men's tennis team traveled to the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) to tackle the Blue Jays in a Conference of New England (CNE) match up. With dominance on every court, the Bison swept USJ to pick up a flawless win.
With the win, Nichols improves to a 9-6-1 record in the season, boasting an 8-1 record in the conference. USJ drops their record now 3-9, 2-8 in the conference.
From the opening serve, Nichols quickly secured the doubles point behind a pair of 6-2 wins at the top two positions, as William Albrikes and Rodolfo Hernandez settled court No. 1, with Felipe Gonzalez and Mason Harris handling business at the two-spot. The third doubles slot was decided by default, giving Nichols an early edge without resistance.
That momentum only intensified once singles play began, where Nichols dictated play across every court. At the top of the lineup, Albrikes delivered a near-flawless outing, surrendering just one game in a 6-1, 6-0 victory. Hernandez followed with an equally decisive result at No. 2, matching the 6-1, 6-0 scoreline to quickly put the match out of reach.
The middle of the lineup continued to apply pressure, with Alexander Snitko grinding out a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 3, while Andrew Emmel controlled rallies at No. 4 en route to a 6-1, 6-1 decision. Joshua Zenczak capped off the on-court action with a commanding 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 5, and the sixth position was awarded to Nichols by default to finalize the sweep.
Men's tennis will return home on Thursday, April 16th to face the Wentworth Institute of Technology. Time is set for 4:00 PM at the Robinson Tennis Courts.
