2026 Men's Volleyball NEVC Tournament Preview - Semifinal

DUDLEY, Mass. (April 11, 2026) – The No. 2 seeded Nichols College men's volleyball team is chasing its fourth consecutive NEVC Championship as it heads to Beverly, Massachusetts to face No. 3 SUNY Poly in the NEVC Semifinals on Saturday evening.

First serve is set for 6:00 PM inside MacDonald Gymnasium.

How They Got Here

The No. 2 seeded Bison finished the regular season with a 14-14 overall record, including a 5-2 mark in NEVC play. On the other side, SUNY Poly enters semifinal action at 12-13 overall with an identical 5-2 conference record.

By the Numbers

Nichols enters the postseason having won three consecutive NEVC Championships (2023–2025), with SUNY Poly standing in their path during each of the last two semifinal runs. The Bison defeated the Wildcats in four sets in 2024 and in straight sets in 2025 to advance.

The two teams met once during the 2026 regular season, with Nichols earning a 3-1 road victory at SUNY Poly. Historically, the Bison hold a perfect 7-0 record against the Wildcats, sweeping five of those seven matchups.

Who to Watch

Nichols enters NEVC Tournament play with a balanced statistical profile, totaling 1,194 kills (11.4 per set) while holding opponents to 10.7 kills per set. The Bison also hold advantages in assists (1,120–1,043), service aces (133–127), and digs (1,177–1,099), showcasing their ability to control both tempo and defensive play.

Sophomore Adam Vincent leads the offensive attack with a program-record 348 kills (3.48 per set), hitting .201 while adding 32 service aces and 175 digs. His production ranks among the top in the NEVC as he continues to serve as the Bison's primary scoring option, setting both the single-season and single-match kills records.

Bradyn Pomainville and Bryce Bonville have been key contributors to the Bison offense. Pomainville ranks second on the team with 217 kills while hitting .226, adding 22 service aces, 93 digs, and 47 total blocks. Bonville sits third on the team with 186 kills and a .180 hitting percentage, while ranking second in service aces (27) and averaging 2.33 kills per set. He has also contributed 119 digs and 18 total blocks defensively.

Junior setter Evan Sachs anchors the offense with a team-best 936 assists (9.18 per set), while adding 221 digs and 38 total blocks. Sachs continues to be the engine of Nichols' system, directing one of the conference's most efficient offenses.

At the net, Connor Snow has been a dominant two-way presence, totaling 166 kills on a team-leading .261 hitting percentage while recording a team-best 72 total blocks (0.72 per set). Defensively, libero Cade Bernardi leads the team with 285 digs (2.77 per set), ranking among the top defenders in both the NEVC and nationally.
