BEVERLY, Mass. (3/4/2026) – The Conference of New England (CNE) has announced its 2025-26 women's ice hockey All-Conference teams today, with the Nichols College women's ice hockey team having one representative in the awards. Freshman forward
Keira Goffe has been named to the Conference of New England Second Team for her efforts this season.
Goffe was a standout player, playing in all 25 games in her first season with the Bison. She scored 11 goals, which was a four-way tie for 4th most in the CNE, 10 assists for 21 points, which put her with the 6th most points record in the CNE. Her goals and points tallies were the most by any freshman in the CNE this season. Goffe also found success at the faceoff spot, ending the season with a .551 face-off win percentage, which placed her at 5th in the CNE in the regular season. The freshman was honored with CNE Player of the Week on 1/5/26 and CNE Rookie of the Week on 1/20/26.
The native of Cranston, Rhode Island recorded a point against every CNE opponent this season, with 13 of her 21 points coming in conference matchups. Goffe recorded the most points against Curry College, where she recorded five points in the three games against the Colonels.
"Keira had a tremendously impactful freshman year. Not only did she lead the team in multiple statistics, but she was among the conference leaders in those statistics." Head Coach
Michael Barrett mentioned when asked about Goffe. "She ranks among the leaders in ice time with her involvement with all special teams' situations from day one. A consummate two-way player, she was as impactful in the defensive zone as she was up top. Her speed carrying pucks through the neutral zone into the offensive zone not only resulted in her turning and getting around some opposing defense, but she also always showed the ability to recognize if there was a better passing option than taking the shot. It showed a level of maturity rarely seen in a freshman, and we're looking forward to her continued growth and development over the next three years."
This marks the second year in a row that the women's ice hockey program had a player earn CNE All-Conference honors, with
Anneliese Klein earning CNE Second Team Defense for the 2024-25 season.
Two-year senior captain
Avery Moriarty was named to the CNE Community Service Team for the second consecutive year. Moriarty played in all 25 games both on offense and defense for the Bison, registering two assists on the 2025-26 season. Off the ice, Moriarty is heavily involved all over campus, including being the Vice-President of Admissions Ambassador program, orientation leader, Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) representative for women's ice hockey, WIN (Women in Nichols) Mentee, President's Senior Advisory Council member, and much more.
