Sachs Claims NEVC Athlete of the Week as Bison Set Assist Record

DUDLEY, Mass. (3/10/2026) - Tuesday afternoon, the New England Volleyball Conference (NEVC) announced its weekly award winners. Junior setter Evan Sachs earned Conference Athlete of the Week honors following a historic performance that saw him record a program-record 58 assists, directing the Bison offense in a five-set comeback victory over SUNY Potsdam

Nichols College junior setter Evan Sachs delivered a historic performance in a five-set comeback victory over SUNY Potsdam, finishing with 58 assists (11.6 per set) while directing the Bison offense. His performance set a new Nichols single-match record for assists and helped power a record-setting offensive night for the program.

Behind Sachs' orchestrating, Nichols produced 62 total assists and 65 kills, both new program records, as the Bison erased a 2–0 deficit to complete the comeback victory. Sachs consistently controlled the tempo of the match and created scoring opportunities throughout the five-set battle.

In addition to orchestrating the offense, Sachs added six digs, two kills, and a block, contributing defensively while leading one of the most productive offensive performances in program history..

Sachs and the Bison will return to action on Wednesday, March 11 at 6:00 p.m. when they travel to New Paltz, N.Y. to face SUNY New Paltz at the Hawk Center.
