DUDLEY, MASS. (2/20/2026) – The Nichols men's volleyball team secured its second home win of the season Friday night with a 3–1 victory over Curry College to open conference play at the Nichols College Athletic Center.
With the win the Bison rise to 6-8 (1-0 NEVC) while the Colonels drop to 6-8 (0-1 NEVC)

The Bison performed strong offensively, led by sophomore Adam Vincent who controlled the match with 17 kills. Juniors Bryce Bonville and Bradyn Pomainville also posted double-digit kill totals, with Pomainville recording 14 kills and Bonville adding 11. The two juniors continued to find their offensive success from the service line with Pomainville contributing 2 aces and Bonville having one. Defensively, Vincent and sophomore Connor Snow were a force up front, totaling six blocks on the night. Junior Cade Bernardi delivered a standout performance, protecting the back line with 20 digs.
The first set began with a serve from Evan Sachs which immediately turned into an attack error by Curry, giving the Bison the first point of the match. Curry answered quickly forcing a Nichols attack error and sparking the back-and-forth battle between both teams. After capitalizing off another attack error from the Colonels, the Bison quickly followed with an ace from Adam Vincent to give them a quick lead. The back-and-forth continued until the Bison went up on a 11-5 run carried by kills from Vincent, Bonville, and Pomainville and service errors from Curry. The Bison continued to impress with their offensive performance winning the first set 25-16.
The second set started as with an early battle back and forth forth battle early, matching each other point for point as the point. The score remained tied after nearly every serve, knotting things up at 10–10. From there, the Bison began to pull ahead, using a combination of timely kills, a service ace, and a few service errors by Curry to open a four-point lead, moving the score to 15–11 and shifting the momentum in their favor. Nine kills late in the set led the Bison to win the second set 25-20.
Curry came out in the third set strong with a pair of kills and benefiting from a Bison service error. Nichols answered quickly, going on a four-point run pushing them into the lead at 4-3. The two teams traded points down the stretch till Curry went on a 3-point run. The score was 20-20 and both teams were fighting for a victory. The Bison's heavy offensive push was not enough and the Colonels took the third set 27-25 from back-to-back attack errors.
The fourth set was a battle the entire way through. Both teams traded points in a tightly contested battle, refusing to give an inch as the score stayed neck-and-neck. Each rally carried added intensity, with neither side able to create separation down the stretch. With the score coming down to 20-20, the Bison gave it one last push that started with a Pomainville kill. This gave the Bison the push they needed and went on a 4 point surge to seal the game with a final score of 25-21.
The Bison will stay home where they will face Emmanuel College with a 7:00 start time in Nichols Athletic Center on Wednesday, February 25th.
