WENHAM, Mass. (2/11/2026) – The Nichols men's basketball team picked up a road victory on Wednesday night, defeating host Gordon College, 73–63 in CNE action inside the Bennett Center.
The Bison improve to 13-10 (8-6 CNE) on the season, while the Fighting Scots drop to 6-16 (5-8 CNE).
Senior
Olivier St. Louis paced Nichols with 14 points, leading six Bison in double-figure scoring.
Dominic Mello,
Ethan Minarik,
Javen Flowers-Smith,
Cassidy Bonsu and
Luke Chapman made up the remaining list of double-figure scorers, with each notching 10 points apiece. Bonsu also posted eight rebounds with a pair of blocks, while Flowers-Smith dished out a game-high nine assists. Nichols shot efficiently from the field, going 26-of-62 (41.9%) with nine makes from three-point range, along with a perfect 12-of-12 mark at the charity stripe.
Nichols set the tone to start out, building a 31–26 halftime advantage while shooting 46.6 percent from the field in the opening half. The turning point came when
Ethan Minarik landed a three at the 11:23 mark, setting of a 13-2 Bison run that put them well in the lead, 28-17, with the run also culminating with another triple from Mello. However, Gordon put up a solid fight the rest of the way through, eventually narrowing the deficit back to as low as four points before the half expired.
Gordon put the Bison on notice to open the second half by flipping the lead in their favor, 40-38. The home team momentum eventually fell by the wayside, as the Bison regrouped with a 12-2 run to put them back in front by eight, fueled by three-pointers from Mello and Chapman. Gordon tried again for a late push down the stretch, but the Fighting Scots were unable to close the gap the second time around as the Bison remained one step ahead the rest of the way, securing themselves the 10-point conference win.
Men's basketball will play in their final regular season road game this Saturday at Western New England University (16-5, 10-2 CNE), beginning at 7:30 PM at the Anthony S. Caprio Alumni Healthful Living Center
