DUDLEY, Mass. (1/26/2026) - Monday afternoon, the Conference of New England (CNE) announced its picks of weekly award winners. Freshman goaltender
Ivy Grant was recognized in her two games against the University of New England as the conference freshman of the week.
The nod marks Grant's second CNE weekly award of the season since her first rookie of the week honors for January 12th, 2026. Now in possession of two rookie of the week awards, Grant's efforts have propelled her to elite company as the first freshman for Nichols College women's ice hockey to post multiple rookie of the week awards in a season since Mel McAleer (2017-2021) in the 2017-18 season.
Grant started in both games this past week for the Bison, averaging a .941 save percentage across the board, 1.54 GAA, and totaling 50 saves on the weekend against the University of New England.
Hosting the Nor'easters at Levy Rink on Friday (1/23), Grant recorded a .966 save percentage, 0.97 GAA, and 28 saves in the 2-1 overtime win, making it her second-highest single game save total since 31 against Western New England (12/5).
On the road at Harold Alfond Forum against UNE (1/24), Grant recorded a .917 save percentage, 2.11 GAA, and 22 saves, but the game resulted in a loss, splitting with the Nor'easters.
Grant and women's ice hockey will return to action on Tuesday, January 27th at hosting Colby College's ice, Jack Kelley Rink. Puck drop is set for 4:00 PM.
