Women’s Track & Field Enter 2026 Season at Wesleyan Indoor Invite II

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (1/24/2026) - The Nichols College women's track & field traveled to Wesleyan University to compete in the Wesleyan Indoor Invite II to open the 2026 season early on Saturday, hosted at the Bacon Field House.

Sophomore Adison Dawe stood out in her performance today with her women's weight throw distance of 12.43m. The distance placed her eighth in the event while simultaneously setting a new distance record for the women's weight throw in the program for the modern era (2014-Present), previously held by herself with the 11.56m she tallied last season at the Brown University Invitational (2/22/2025).

Along with Dawe's performance, sophomore Gabrielle McKayle produced a Top-5 in the women's 60 meters finals. McKayle's time of 8.25 landed her fourth in the event, adding to her resume of program records for Nichols College in the women's 60m as she now holds the entire Top-5 to herself.

Freshman Ashley Cabrera-Rodriguez placed seventh in the women's triple jump with a distance of 9.67m. The distance breaks into the program record as number three, with the triple jump records being untouched since Jocelyn Pepka (2025-2018). The distance replaces Pepka's 9.22m at the Corsair Classic T&F Invite (4/4/15).
