Keira Goffe's Efforts Earns CNE Rookie of the Week Nod

DUDLEY, Mass. (1/20/2026) - Announced on Tuesday, January 20th, the Conference of New England (CNE) honored freshman forward Keira Goffe of the Nichols College women's ice hockey team as Rookie of the Week.

The award marks Goffe's second of the season following her CNE Player of the Week (1/5/26), effectively her second career accolade as well. With the recognition, the Bison have now been honored with five individual awards on the season, with the 2018-19 season being the last time a women's ice hockey team has posted five weekly awards.

Goffe accumulated three points across both games this week, posting a goal and winning 17 of 23 face-offs (73.9 win percentage) on the night against Curry (1/16), leading up to her second multi-goal game of the season away at Curry (1/17), where she knocked two equalizers and played a vital role in pushing the game to OT.

Goffe is currently seated at the number five spot for CNE's most individual points, the only freshman in the top 5, 1 of 2 freshmen in the top 10 consideration. With the points, Goffe is top 3 in both goals and goals per game, with her eight goals total and .50 goals per game percentage. Goffe is also first in total face-off wins with 194, with a .586 face-off win percentage on the season.

The women's ice hockey team will return home to the Levy Rink against the University of New England in partnership with the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) for the Athletes-4-Athletes game. The game is set to start at 4:40 PM on Friday, January 23rd; the annual Skate With the Bison will proceed after.
