DUDLEY, Mass. (9/4/2025) – The Nichols women's golf team is ready to tee off their third season as a program in 2025-26, which will be the first in the fully tooled Conference of New England, and first under the tutelage of new head coach Don Lemieux.
The Bison open the new campaign at the Hartford Hawks Women's Invitational on September 6-7 at Keney Park Golf Course, which will be a preview tournament of the inaugural CNE Women's Golf Championship on October 11-12, also hosted by the University of Hartford.
"It's an exciting time for the women's program", said coach Lemieux. "With the conference officially adding women's golf this season, this group is ready for whatever challenges will come their way. They have a ton of talent, they are competitive, and above all else, they want to win."
The Bison return four key members of their 2024-25 squad, and welcome a pair of new names to the lineup. Of the list of returners, senior captain
Kaitlin Baca will help lead the way for the Bison this fall, with her 99.7 ranking as the second lowest average on the team last season. Her season performance also included a career-low 87 (+15) round at the Keene State Fall Classic (9/29), as well as an 89 (+17) in the opening round of the 8th Annual NEIGA Women's Championship (10/19).
Joining Baca as a captain is sophomore
Isabella Fleury, who averaged a team-low 90.5 strokes per round in 2024-25. Fluery also stood out on a number of occasions, where she finished as the team's top player in the 8th Annual NEIGA Championship, landing in 20th individually with a two-round card of 178 (+34).
Rounding out the list of Bison returners are junior
Gabrielle Maranchie, and sophomore
Eva Melanson. Nichols welcomes the arrival of freshman
Cynthia Fang, and junior dual-sport athlete Felcia Zander.
