BEVERLY, Mass. (9/22/2025) – Nichols College Men's Soccer picked up an award winner this week, with
Derek Axon earning CNE Defensive Player of the Week honors for September 22nd.
Derek Axon started and played all 90 minutes in two games this past week, keeping a clean sheet in both games. Axon made a total of 9 saves in the two games, with four of the saves being one-on-one saves. He earned a win and a tie in his two games played, recording a 1-0-1 record on the week.
This is Axon's second time winning CNE Defensive Player of the Week honors, with his last time being on September 18th, 2023.
Axon and men's soccer will be back in action Saturday for a home contest versus Conference of New England rival Western New England University. Kickoff is set for 12 PM for Nichols College's Homecoming Match.
