Coast Guard scored on its opening drive of the game , and proceeded to run up 35 total points in the opening quarter with five touchdowns. However, the Bison were able to find their own way into the endzone twice in the period, beginning with an impressive 75-yard connection between Snow and Morvan at the 9:46 mark, which was also Nichols' opening drive. The pair then connected a second time late in the quarter at 1:14, this time from 28 yards out, bringing the action to 35-14 through one.
Nichols was the first on the board in the second quarter, with Snow adding in a rushing touchdown at 12:25 to trim the Coast Guard lead to 35-20. The Bears returned the favor with 21 unanswered points over their next three drives, furthering their lead to 46-21 with under five to play in the half. However, the Bison were able to sneak in one last score prior to the horn, with Snow finding senior wide receiver
Aaron Canuel for a 39-yard touchdown to make it 56-28. Coast Guard would also cash in for one final touchdown in the waning seconds of the half, which came by way of a 59-yard pass to lock up a lopsided 62-28 lead at halftime.
The third quarter saw the Bison out-pace the Bears for the first and only time on the afternoon, with senior tight end
Kevin Fuoroli Jr. hauling in two separate touchdowns at the 11:28 and 4:02 marks of the quarter, which were his second and third of the season, respectively. However, despite Nichols having a 13-7 scoring edge in the third, Coast Guard returned to their scoring ways in the fourth quarter, tacking on three more touchdowns to extend their lead to 92-53.
With one drive left in the game, Nichols made sure they got the final word in with Snow finding
