WESTFIELD, Mass. (9/14/2025) – The Nichols women's golf team turned in a strong performance at the Westfield State Invitational on Sunday afternoon, posting a single-round score of 356 (+72) to finish runner up out of six competing teams at the par-71 Tekoa Country Club.
The Bison finished four strokes ahead of third-place finisher Keene State College (+76), while Suffolk University claimed the tournament title with a 321 (+37) score.
Nichols was led by junior newcomer
Felicia Zander, who placed tied for runner-up individually at nine-over 80, which included three birdies throughout. Also placing in the top 10 was senior
Kaitlin Baca, who finished in a three-way tie for sixth with an 86 (+15).
Continuing down the list, junior
Gabrielle Maranchie finished with a 99 (+23) to claim 13
th overall, while sophomore
Eva Melanson claimed 14
th just two strokes behind Maranchie at 96 (+25). Freshman
Cynthia Fang carded a 31-over 102 to finish tie for 19
th in her collegiate debut.
