DUDLEY, Mass. (9/13/2025) – The Nichols men's soccer team was edged out by Johnson & Wales University, 1‑0, on a sunny Saturday afternoon at Nichols Soccer Field. After a defensive stalemate, the Wildcats' lone goal in the 19th minute would prove to be the game-winner.
With the loss, Nichols' record moves to 0‑3‑2 (0‑1 CNE), while the Wildcats improve to 2‑2‑1 (1‑0 CNE).
The game's lone goal came early in the 1st half when JWU's Jordan Thibodeau found the back of the net in the 19th minute off a flick on header from Bruno Teixeira. Thibodeau's goal was his second goal of the season.
The match was a defensive grind, with neither side able to break through. Nichols mounted a few serious threats, and JWU held on despite pressure.
William Pugliese-Savage found himself in one-on-one with the goalkeeper in the 87th minute, but the Wildcat's goalkeeper Alexander Nardolillo came up with a huge save to keep the Bison out.
Anthony Grguric started in net for the Bison, amounting to 4 saves on the 90 minutes of play.
The Bison have a quick turnaround as they will be on the road on Monday when they travel to face Clark University. Time for kickoff is set for 7 PM.
