BRISTOL, R.I. (9/13/2025) – Sophomore forward 
Emma Bianculli scored Nichols' lone goal, as the Bison field hockey team fell to Roger Williams University, 10-1 in their 2025 Conference of New England opener on Saturday afternoon at Bayside Field.
With the loss, the Bison fell to 1-4 (0-1 CNE) on the season, while Roger Williams improved to 4-2 (1-0) in its campaign. 
The opening half was all Roger Williams, as the Hawks fired off six unanswered goals with three in each quarter. Along with the 6-0 lead, Roger Williams also owned a lengthy 18-1 advantage in overall shots.
After halftime, the Hawks tacked on one more goal at the 31:34 mark of the contest, before Bianculli broke the Bison silence with her first of the season, unassisted in the 35
th minute to cut the deficit to 7-1. However, Nichols would not be able to generate many more looks the rest of the way, as the Hawks added another trio of goals in the final quarter, finalizing the 10-1 result.
In goal, freshman 
Jessa Altemose (1-4) made 10 saves, her highest total so far this season.
The Bison will be back at Vendetti Field for a 7:00 PM non-conference game against Eastern Connecticut State University (2-3) on Tuesday, September 16
th.
