Building on the Foundations: Women's Soccer 2025 Season Preview

Building on the Foundations: Women's Soccer 2025 Season Preview

DUDLEY, Mass. (8/26/2025) - The Nichols Women's Soccer program heads into the 2025 season with a strong foundation of returners and a new wave of talent who are eager to be back on The Hill. On the touchline, Angel Mogel returns for her fourth season as the Head Coach for the Bison and looks to build off the foundations of last season and a strong spring ball showing.

Coach Mogel will bring back her seasoned coaching staff for the 2025 season. Her staff will feature:
  • Shelby Masse – The longest-standing coach in the program, Shelby will work with the goalkeepers in her ninth season with the Bison. Her experience and leadership create a supportive, competitive environment that will push the keepers to excel.
  • Adie Hughes – After her time as a Women's Soccer Graduate Assistant last season, Adie returns in a new position as an Assistant Coach. Adie will be Mogel's "right hand" this season. As a former student-athlete for the Women's Soccer program, she is a role model for the student-athletes that brings a unique perspective and handles the behind-the-scenes work that keeps the program running smoothly.

"The coaching staff and players have been working extremely hard to build a culture for our Women's Soccer program" Coach Mogel commented. "I feel confident that we've established a strong foundation built around grit, work ethic, and team cohesiveness. I am truly excited for this 2025 squad and what we will accomplish this season."

Nichols College leading scorer, Falyn Hunt, will headline the Bison's roster, as she returns for her senior year after earning All-CNE Third Team honors in 2024. In her 18 appearances last season, Hunt led the team with nine goals, while adding two assists for 20 points in total. Captain Caroline Shields also returns to anchor the midfield after battling back from an injury that sidelined her last season. Coming off great rookie seasons, Summer Bruno and Alyssa Senecal will be huge assets on the field for the Bison.

The program is welcoming nine promising rookies, eight freshmen and one transfer, to the squad this year who look to fit seamlessly into the team-first culture.

The Bison starts their season at home on Friday, August 29th against Albertus Magnus College. The next day, Nichols will host Clark University at 12 PM. The Bison's first Conference of New England match will be against Johnson & Wales University on September 12th at 4 PM.

The Nichols Women's Soccer homecoming game is set for Saturday, September 27th at 12 PM.
