Nichols Athletics Announces 2025 Hall of Fame Class

DUDLEY, Mass. (8/12/2025) - The Nichols College Division of Athletics is proud to announce the newest class of inductees into the Athletics Hall of Fame. The inductees include four standout student-athletes for the Class of 2025.

The College's 53rd induction class includes Bill Hassett '12, Brandon Roode '15, Amarie Settinwongse '20, and DeAnte Bruton '20. Started in 1972, the Hall of Fame will now include 226 former student-athletes, 13 honorary members and 11 teams.

"We honor this year's four extraordinary individuals whose dedication, talent, and character have left a lasting legacy on Nichols Athletics", said Interim Director of Athletics Kristan Mallet. "Each of these Hall of Fame inductees represents the very best of what it means to be a student-athlete—champions on the field, leaders in the locker room, and role models in life. Their impact will be felt for generations to come, and we are proud to welcome them into our Hall of Fame."

Bill Hassett '12 – Football
Hassett, a two-time New England Football Conference (NEFC) Boyd Division First Team Defensive Line selection, finds himself all over the Bison record books. Hassett also played in 2010 DII/DIII All-American Bowl. He recorded 244 career tackles, ranking him fifth all-time, and 44.5 tackles for a loss in his career, ranking second all-time. His 20.0 sacks in his career is also a top-three mark all-time in Bison Program history. Hassett recorded the most forced fumbles in a single game (2), as well as the most in a single season (3), and second most in a career (5) throughout his time on "The Hill".

Brandon Roode '15 – Men's Tennis
Roode, a two-time Payer of the Year and Rookie of the Year, graduated No. 1 in program-history in career singles wins (76) and No. 2 in career doubles wins (63), while also piecing together two of the best individual seasons in both singles (23-'14, 22-'15) and doubles (21-'13, 20-'14). In 2014-15, he won 22 singles matches, which ranks as the second-highest single-season mark in program history, and finished season with 20 consecutive singles wins. The 2013-14 season saw him win a program-record 23 singles matches, alongside 20 doubles matches, which was the second-highest single-season mark in program history. Roode closed the 2012-13 season No. 8 in ITA Regional doubles rankings, while going 16-6 in singles (4-1 CCC) and 21-3 in doubles (7-0 in Conference Play).

Amarie Settiwongse '20 – Women's Tennis
Settiwongse stands as one of the top student-athletes in program history, as well as one of the most decorated athletes in school history. She is a four-time Conference Player of the Year, including also being named the Rookie of the Year, while also earning First Team Singles and Doubles distinction every year with the Bison. She Graduated No. 1 in both singles wins (67) and singles winning pct. (.848), No. 2 in doubles wins (70), and No. 10 in doubles winning pct. (.737).

DeAnte Bruton '20 – Men's Basketball
Bruton has his name all over the men's basketball record book, including his name being a four time First Team selection as well as being the Conference Rookie of the Year, his freshman season on "The Hill". He graduates No. 1 in field goals made (863); No. 2 in scoring (2,334 points), steals (214), and games played (113); No. 3 in three-pointers (226); No. 4 in assists (374) and free throws (382); No. 6 in scoring average (20.6 ppg); and No. 7 in free throw pct. (80.6). 

The Hall of Fame ceremony will take place on Saturday, September 27th at 10:00 AM inside Daniels Auditorium, located on the campus of Nichols College.
