How the Bison Got Here: The 2024-25 season has been a banner year for the Bison women's program, with The Herd claiming its first conference title in six seasons. Their tournament began with a bye through the CNE Quarterfinal as the conference's top seed, before a 4-0 sweep of Roger Williams University on October 17th in the Semifinal Round. The Bison then seized the conference crown two days later over Endicott College at home, winning by the same score of 4-0.

The regular season also saw the Bison go undefeated against conference opponents for the first time since 2019-20, with the team compiling a 6-0 mark. Overall, Nichols enters the tournament with an 11-9 record.

The Opponent: The Jumbos, who are ranked No. 14 nationally in the most recent ITA polls, just finished off their spring campaign with a narrow 4-3 loss in the NESCAC Quarterfinal against No. 13 Amherst, earning themselves an at-large berth into the NCAA Tournament.

Tufts hits the national stage with a 15-6 overall record, including a 6-4 mark in NESCAC play.

Who to Watch: Nichols saw a clean sweep of the CNE major awards this fall, beginning with CNE Player of the Year and senior captain Antonia Carrero. Along with the top honors, Carrero was also selected to the All-CNE First Team for singles after posting a dominant 10-2 (7-0 CNE) record as a lock at the No. 2 position. Up to this point in the year, her overall singles wins has increased to 13 total, which ranks first on the team.

Freshman Kamora Helton, the 2025 CNE Rookie of the Year, was a force to be reckoned with in her first season on The Hill. She chalked up a 7-4 (7-0 CNE) overall record in singles play last fall, helping her earn CNE Rookie and Player of the Week honors along the way. In addition to being the conference's top rookie, Helton was selected to the All-CNE First Team for both singles and doubles, along with her doubles partner and fellow classmate, Pamela Gonzalez-Vallardi.
Helton and Gonzalez Vallardi also combined for a team-best 11 wins in doubles this year.
