DUDLEY, Mass. (5/4/2025) – The Nichols College baseball team dropped their regular season finale on Sunday afternoon from the Nichols Baseball field, with a 4-3 decision at the hands of Wheaton College.
The Lyons jumped out to a 3-0 lead after four innings, thanks to a two-run home run in the fourth inning for Wheaton. The Bison ended the shutout bid in the fifth inning, when freshman

Wheaton grabbed another run in the seventh inning with an RBI single. Senior

Collin Harty from second, cutting the lead in half. The Bison looked to even the game in the bottom of the ninth, when Croteau scored again on a Jerome single, but it was too little to late for the Bison as they lost 4-3.
Sophomore
Allen Hinckley (2-2) shouldered the loss, with 2 innings pitched and three strikeouts, while allowing two hits and a run. Nichols used a total of seven pitchers in the game.
Nichols (24-16, 11-5 CNE) wrap up regular season play and look towards the Conference of New England Tournament next week. The Bison secured the second seed and a first round bye and will welcome the winner of Hartford and Roger Williams, to the Nichols Baseball Field on Thursday, May 8, with first pitch set for 11:00 a.m.
