Women’s Lacrosse Falls to Endicott in CNE Semifinal

BEVERLY, Mass. (4/30/2025) – The No. 4 seeded Nichols College women's lacrosse team saw its 2025 CNE Tournament run end with a loss to top-seeded Endicott College, 24-6, in the semifinal round on Wednesday evening at Hempstead Stadium.

Junior Emma Patton and freshman Kasey Litwin each tallied two goals for the Bison, while seniors Hadley Houghton and Kristen Ruby rounded out the scoring with one goal each. Houghton, with two assists to go with her lone goal, also joined forces with classmate McKenzie Muir for a combined six draw controls, while Muir chalked up a pair of caused turnovers to lead the defensive effort.

Muir's two caused turnovers also helped her set the program single season record for the statistic, which she previously set herself last season.

In the cage, junior Briar Slattery (12-4-1) stopped nine shots for the Bison, while senior Kaleigh Seal made one save in the final quarter.

Nichols was the first on the board in the opening quarter thanks to Patton's 40th of the season, unassisted just 1:03 into the game. Endicott answered with five straight to pull ahead 5-1 with 5:30 to play, before Houghton found the back of the net at the 3:41 mark to cut the lead to 5-2.

Endicott proceeded to tack on another 11 goals in the second quarter, but the Bison split up their attack with a 3-0 of its own thanks to goals from Patton, Ruby and Litwin across a three-minute span, with the first two goals assisted by Houghton. As a result, the Gulls would take a 16-5 lead into the halftime break.

Endicott struck first out of the break, but Litwin answered with her second of the game to bring the action to 17-6 with 1:40 left in the third. However, Endicott would own the offense the remainder of the game, scoring seven unanswered goals to secure the 24-6 victory.

The Bison finish off the spring with a 13-4-1 (5-3-1 CNE) overall record, their winningest season in program history.
