DUDLEY, Mass. (4/27/2025) – The Nichols College women's golf team hosted its Spring Invitational on Wednesday afternoon, and defeated Gordon College in head-to-head match play, 459-551 at the Dudley Hill Golf Club.
The Bison were 99-over par as a combined unit, as compared to Gordon's 191-over performance at the par-72 course. Freshman
Isabella Fleury secured the individual win for the Bison by totaling a 13-over 85 in the 11-player field. Junior
Kaitlin Baca was next on the leaderboard, placing 2
nd behind a single-round score of 90 (+18), while sophomore
Maya Orbegozo took 3
rd with a 92 (+20). It didn't stop there for the Bison, as freshman
Eva Melanson turned in a 93 (+21) on the afternoon, landing her in 4
th place.
Sophomore
Gabrielle Maranchie was the last of the Bison starting five, claiming 6
th individually with a 27-over par 99 on the day, while individual entry
Keely Griffin placed 9
th with a 110 (+38).
Fluery is the second Bison player to win the home event, following Orbegozo's victory in last season's tournament.
The spring campaign officially comes to a close for the women's golf program, with their first season in the Conference of New England (CNE) on the horizon in 2025-26.
