Softball Splits with Suffolk

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (4/25/2025) – The Nichols College softball team split a Conference of New England (CNE) doubleheader against Suffolk University on Friday afternoon. Nichols took game one, 10-2, before falling in game two, 2-0.

The split puts Nichols at 26-10 (11-5 CNE) on the season.

Game 1: Nichols 10, Suffolk 2
The Bison opened the scoring in the first inning as junior Allie Silliman doubled to left-center to drive in two runs and give Nichols an early 2-0 lead.

The momentum continued into the third inning, with RBI doubles from Silliman and junior Bailey Littlefield extending the Bison lead to 5-0.

In the fourth, senior Erin Gour singled through the left side to score another run, and a wild pitch by the Rams brought home an additional Bison run.

The Rams answered with a two-run single in the top of the fifth, but it wasn't enough to slow Nichols' momentum. Littlefield added two more hits across the sixth and seventh innings to help secure the win.

Chelsea Indyk was sensational in the circle, pitching a complete seven innings to earn her 19th win of the season, striking out three Rams in the process.

Game 2: Suffolk 2, Nichols 0
Momentum swung in Suffolk's favor in game two, as the Bison managed just three hits—one each from third baseman Chloe Steiniger, first baseman Allie Sullivan, and second baseman Erin Gour—while being shut out.

Freshman Molly Medor pitched a strong six-inning outing for the Bison, striking out two Rams and allowing just one walk.

Nichols' next game will serve as both Senior Day and Alumni Day, as they host Roger Williams University this Sunday on the Hill. The Conference of New England doubleheader is set to begin at 1:00 PM at the Nichols College Softball Field.
