PREVIEW: Track and Field Set for CNE Championship

DUDLEY, Mass. (4/24/2025) - The Nichols College men's and women's track & field programs are set to compete at the 2025 Conference of New England (CNE) Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Gordon College.

The meet kicks off Friday afternoon with High Jump at 2:00 p.m. followed by Hammer Throw and at 4:30 p.m. Long Jump. The Running events are set to begin at 5:00 p.m. with Women's 3000m Steeplechase followed by Men's 3000m Steeplechase at 5:30 p.m. The remainder of the meet will continue all day Saturday.

On the men's side, sophomore Nolan Charbonneau is seeded third overall in the 110m hurdles with a 15.64 in the event. The Bison have members three members in the top 10 of the 100m dash. Freshman Eric Manilut is seeded fifth with a 11.19, Charbonneau and Giormani Fortes De Brito are neck and neck at 11.43 and 11.48.

In throwing, the Bison see freshman Chad Moffat seeded first with in the Javelin, with teammate Zachary Yarnall ranking third in the event. Junior Tyler Sandford with a sixth seed at 12.68m in Shot Put. In Discus, Nichols has three all seeded next to each other with senior Zachary Yarnall, Daniel Adamuska, and Chad Moffat all within a meter of each other (32.38m, 31.30m, 31.29m).

On the jumping side of things, sophomore Liam Wilcox is seeded sixth in pole vault with a 3.70m jump, that currently holds the program record for. In long jump, four Bison all rank next to each other with Jessiaha Medina (6.08m), Colby Ambroziak (6.03m), Liam Wilcox (5.97m), and Eric Manilut (5.96m). Amani Mkambavange is ranked sixth in Triple Jump.

On the women's side, freshman Gabrielle McKayle is seeded in third overall in the 100m dash with a 12.80, while also being seeded third overall in the 200m dash as well with a 26.00. Freshman Lixion Koulmbai lands in 14th in the 800m run with a 2:36.42.

In the throwing events, the Bison see freshman Haley Bethin ranked 13th in the Shot Put with a 9.62m mark, and 13th in the Discus Throw too with a 28.52m mark. Emma Cheffer, Erin Mahoney, and Adison Dawe all rank next to each other in the event. Adison Dawe is seeded sixth in the Hammer Throw with her 39.80m mark.

Freshman Asya Osei-Opoku ranks 19th in Long Jump with a 4.39m mark.
