Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Men's Lacrosse Limited in Loss to Endicott, 30-4

DUDLEY, Mass. (4/1/2025) – The Nichols College men's lacrosse team returned home for an afternoon conference matchup with Endicott College on Tuesday, but took a loss against the Gulls by a final score of 30-4 at Vendetti Field.

The Bison move to 3-9 (1-2 CNE) overall, while the Gulls improve to 8-3 (3-0 CNE).

Dylan DeRubeis scored two of Nichols' four goals on the afternoon, while Cooper Melvin and CJ Cadigan accounted for the remainder with one apiece. Travis Arnold, alongside one assist, went 8-for-23 from the faceoff, and scooped a team-best four ground balls. Cooper Melvin also hit another career milestone against the Gulls, scooping his 200th career ground ball.

Brady Morgan (3-9), Carter Renaud and Ethan Frates all split time in net. Morgan earned the start, making 13 saves, while Renaud made 11 saves, and Frates four.

Nichols generated most of its offense early on, as DeRubeis netted both of his goals in the first quarter at the 9:15 and 5:23 marks, respectively, with the latter off a feed from Arnold. However, Nichols struggled to find the back of the net from there on out, as Melvin notched their final goal of the half midway through the second quarter, assisted from Colin Bunkley. On the other end, Endicott took advantage of nearly every chance they had in the half, putting up seven goals in the first quarter and a whopping 12 in the second to take a 20-3 lead into halftime.

Nichols' woes would continue in the second half, only scoring once more in the third quarter after John Caserta found Cadigan camped in front for a quick release. Endicott's offense scored six more times in the same frame, ahead of a 4-0 fourth quarter to complete the 30-4 win.

The Bison get a few days off before returning to action on Saturday for a road tilt at conference opponent University of New England (5-7, 0-3 CNE). Faceoff is set for 1:00 PM at Blue Bolt Field.
