Klein Named to All-Conference Second Team

BEVERLY, Mass. (3/4/2025) – Sophomore Anneliese Klein of the Nichols College women's ice hockey team, has been named to the Conference of New England (CNE) Second Team for her efforts this season. Klein is one of five total defenders selected to the All-Conference team.

Klein was the top scorer for the Bison on the blueline, finishing with career highs in goals (8) and assists (3) for a total of 11 points while skating in all 25 games this season. She tallied two multi-point games including a pair of goals in the season finale for the Bison against UNE.

Seven of the eight goals scored by Klein came against CNE opponents this season, scoring against Curry, Johnson & Wales, Suffolk and UNE. Klein scored in all three meetings against JWU this season.

"Anneliese is instantly noticeable for her speed and shot. What stands out most for me this year is growth and maturity with her hockey IQ and decision making." Added Head Coach Michael Barrett, "Her distribution on breakouts and special teams has not only elevated her game but makes us as a whole a better team every time she is on the ice."

Klein is the first player in two years to earn an All-Conference honor since, Victoria Bakopanos was named to the Second Team, back in 2022.

Junior Captain Avery Moriarty was named to the CNE Community Service Team. Moriarty played in all 25 games for the Bison while registering five assists on the season. Off the ice, Moriarty is involved all over campus from the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (S.A.A.C.) to a Student Ambassador for the College.
