Men's Basketball Sees Two on CSC Academic All-District


College Sports Communicators (CSC) Release

 – Two members of the Nichols College Men's Basketball team were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.

Sophomore's Luke Chapman and Ethan Minarik both earned the honor for the Bison this season.

To qualify for CSC Academic all-district, the athlete must have a minimum GPA of 3.50 or better, and have competed in at least 90% of games played, or started at least 66% of contests. A maximum of six athletes per team may be recognized each year.
Chapman appeared in all 26 games making six starts, He averaged 5.5 points per game, with 48-of-102 (47.1%) success from the field and finished with 109 rebounds, with a career-high nine against University of Hartford (1/7). Chapman also scored a career-high 14 points against University of Hartford (1/7) and found himself in double-figures in six games.

Minarik appeared in 24 games making three starts. He shot 31-of-91 (34.1%) from the field and 25-of-80 (31.3%) from three-point range, scoring 87 points (3.6 PPG). Minarik poured in a career-high 13 points against University of Hartford (1/7). He hauled in a career-high four rebounds at Roger Williams (2/25), alongside two assists. He snagged three steals against Southern Maine (11/16).

The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
 
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
