Patton Hits 100 Career Points, Bison Win Fourth Straight Win at Clark

Worcester, Mass. (3/12/2025) – The win streak continued for the red-hot Nichols women's lacrosse program on Wednesday afternoon, as a strong first half lifted the Bison to a 16-9 victory over non-conference opponent Clark University at the Granger Athletic Complex.

The Bison remain unbeaten at 4-0 on the season, while the Cougars drop to 2-3 with the loss.

Hadley Houghton had nine goals in the win, all of which were scored in the first half, along with five draw controls and three ground balls. Sienna Reeves contributed to the offensive effort with her second hat trick of the season, while Cali Mello and Emma Patton each poured in two goals. Patton also combined for six caused turnovers with Adison Whitty, while McKenzie Muir controlled the possession with a game-high eight draw controls. Starter Briar Slattery (4-0) made nine saves in net, logging the full 60-minutes of action.

Additionally for Patton, her five points against the Cougars helped her reach the 100-point milestone in her collegiate career.

The Bison bombarded the Cougars for 12 goals in the first half, resulting in a 12-5 lead after 30 minutes of action. Included in that total was Houghton's nine strikes, which also featured four free position goals from the senior, while Reeves scored twice for her sixth and seventh of the season, respectively. Patton also found her way onto the first-half scoresheet, scoring her 10th of the season, unassisted at 1:27 of the second quarter.

The Nichols attack was slowed in the third quarter, as Patton was the lone Bison to score in a 1-1 stalemate. Things ramped back up in the fourth frame, however, with Melo notching both of her goals at the 14:39 and 2:42 marks, rounding out the 16-9 win for the Bison.

The Bison are back at home this coming Saturday, March 15th for a 4:00 PM matchup against the University of Saint Joseph (CT) (1-4, 0-1 GNAC) at Vendetti Field.
