HARRISVILLE, R.I. (2/14/2025) – The Nichols College women's hockey team dropped a Conference of New England (CNE) match -to Curry College on Friday night from Levy Rink. The Bison lost 7-1 to the Colonels.
Freshman
Sophie Costello-Krakowski scored the Bison's lone goal in the loss and the goal was unassisted. Senior
McKenzie Muir stopped 37 shots in the loss. Teammate
Paige Almon also saw time in the net, making one save.
The Colonels opened the scoring in the first period and took that lead into the locker room after 20 minutes. In the second period, Costello-Krakowski tied the game up before Curry grabbed the lead once again. Curry scored twice to take a 4-1 lead into the second-period intermission.
Three more third-period goals from the Colonels put the game out-reach.
Nichols will return to action next weekend when they travel to Western New England on Friday night for an 8:00 p.m. face-off from Olympia Ice Center.
