DUDLEY, Mass. (2/1/2025) – The Nichols College men's basketball team lit up the scoreboard on Saturday afternoon, defeating Curry College by a score of 104-75 in conference play at the Nichols Athletic Center.
With the win, the Bison improve to 10-9 (7-5 CNE) overall, while Curry slides to 2-17 (1-11 CNE).
The performance marked Nichols' first 100-plus point outing of the season, with the team shooting 40-of-72 (55.6%) from the field with 55 points in the paint, and 22 bench points.
Javen Flowers-Smith led all scorers with 31 points in the win, while also filling the stat sheet with eight assists, six rebounds and four steals with an 11-of-18 (61.1%) success rate from the field.
Simon Percy also stood out scoring 22 points with six boards, while
Jason Peters put up 11 points of his own. Nichols also out-rebounded Curry by a 44-32 margin and went 13-of-26 (50.0%) from three-point range.
The Bison were a dominant force in the first half, as they turned a 7-7 tie through the first five minutes into a 29-11 advantage past the midway point, outscoring Curry 22-4 in that span. The Bison continued to maintain their lead in the first half as
Olivier St. Louis delivered a pair of layups to make it 37-20 with 5:00 left, until Curry answered with their own 8-2 stretch that pulled them back under double digits at 39-30. The Bison ended the half with a 10-point lead, not allowing the Colonels to pull within striking range heading into the break.
Nichols ignited the crowd in the second half with an introductory triple from Percy, promptly followed by a
Ryan Savoy dunk on the next Bison possession, helping Nichols to extend their lead to 18 points through the first two minutes. Over the next several minutes, the Bison continued to punish the Colonels from the perimeter, with Percy, St. Louis and Flowers-Smith each knocking down threes to over 25 points nearing the midway point of the half. The Colonels would only get as close as 22 the rest of the game, with
Ethan Minarik nailing his own trey at the 5:26 mark to make it a 30-point ballgame for the Bison, en route to their eventual 104-75 victory.

th on the road at the University of Hartford (4-15, 2-10) for a 7:30 PM tip-off at Chase Arena.
