DUDLEY, Mass. (12/1/2025) – With their fall season officially wrapping up earlier this month, the Nichols field hockey program had a number of highlight moments to look back on.
Under the tutelage of first-year head coach Kelsey Ramsay, the Bison finished the fall with a 6-14 overall record, including a 2-5 mark in conference play. Their six victories tied for the second most in the past seven seasons, and helped the program return to postseason play.
The first victory of the season came on Thursday, September 11
th against Anna Maria College, where the Bison blanked the visiting AMCATS by a score of 5-0. Down the stretch, the Bison also picked up their first CNE win of the season at the University of Hartford on October 25
th by a score of 2-0, exactly one week prior to a 3-0 sweep of Gordon College on October 25
th, the program's senior day, to clinch the final seed in the 2025 CNE Tournament.
The win over the Fighting Scots spearheaded a three-game win streak to close out the regular season, where they also picked up wins over Elms (9-0) and UMass Dartmouth (3-2). As the No. 6 seed in the CNE Tournament, the Bison faced off against No. 3 University of New England, but were sent home in the opening round by a 6-0 score.
Throughout the season, 12 Nichols players saw playing time in 15 or more games, with five playing in all 20 contests.
