Axon Recognized with CSC Academic All-District for Men’s Soccer

DUDLEY, Mass. (11/25/2025) - Men's soccer senior goalkeeper Derek Axon was recognized and named to the the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team on Tuesday. 

As a senior, Axon appeared in 12 games, starting in every one of said 12 matches. Axon posted 65 saves on the season, seeing 1035 total minutes of action in the net. Axon was also named a Conference of New England (CNE) Defensive Player of the Week on two separate occasions this season for the weeks of 9/22 and 10/6. 

When he wasn't on the pitch, Axon was pursuing general business here at Nichols, maintaining an impressive 3.628 GPA. To qualify for CSC Academic all-district, the athlete must have a minimum GPA of 3.50 or better, and have competed in at least 90% of games played, or started at least 66% of contests. A maximum of six athletes per team may be recognized each year.

Axon qualified for Academic All-District recognition for his impressive academic standing and his participation in the 2025 season.

"The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA."
