WORCESTER, Mass. (10/9/2025) - Nichols College men's tennis traveled to Clark University for their second match of the season. Featuring some hard-fought performances the Bison just narrowly lost, 4-3.
Following the match, the Bison's record evens out at 1-1, and the Cougars improve to 6-0.
Doubles play courts were set with
William Albrikes and
Nikolas Bertrams at No.1,
Joshua Alarcon and
Rodolfo Hernandez for No.2, and
Ezra Raphael and
Mason Harris rounding out the match ups for court No.3. Harris and Raphael were able to get 2 in their match up, but ultimately lost first 6-2. Alarcon and Hernandez dropped court No. 2 with a score of 6-3, confirming the Cougars' doubles point. Despite the loss of the point, the freshman pair of Albrikes and Bertrams took their match to a tiebreaker, but lost 7-6, 7-3.
For singles competition Nichols was able to keep some close matches.
Jodha Singh picked up a point for Nichols with his scores of 2-6, 6-1, 6-2.
Alexander Snitko also claimed a point in a tough battle at No.6, winning in three sets and a tiebreaker. The Bison's final point of the day was won by
Felipe Gonzalez, winning after two tiebreaks 3-6, 6-3, 7-6, 7-3, 7-5. Bertrams and Hernandez kept their matches close but lost in three sets.Â
The Bison will continue their season at the Springfield Invitational on Saturday, October 11th at the Appleton Tennis Courts.
