WESTFIELD, Mass. (10/7/2025) - The Nichols women's golf team emerged victorious in a dual match showdown against host Westfield State University on Tuesday, defeating the Owls by a final score of 348-426 at the Tekoa Country Club.
As a head-to-head, six-player competition, the Bison finished the day occupying each of the top six individual finishing spots. Leading the way was junior
Felicia Zander, who scored 85 (+14) to finish in first, while senior
Kaitlin Baca claimed runner-up just one stroke behind Zander at 86 (+15). Sophomore
Isabella Fleury was also close behind with 87 (+16) on the day, landing her a third-place finish.
Moving down the list, sophomore
Eva Melanson took fourth out of the 12-player field with a 19-over 90 performance, while freshman
Cynthia Fang took fifth with a 93 (+22). Rounding out the Bison lineup was junior
Gabrielle Maranchie, who turned in a 96 (+25) card for a sixth place finish.
The dual match was the final tune up for the Bison before this weekend's inaugural Conference of New England Women's Golf Championship, which will take place on October 11-12 at Keney Park Golf Course in West Hartford, Connecticut, hosted by the University of Hartford.
