Men’s Soccer Cap Off 2025 Season with Loss at Suffolk

EAST BOSTON, Mass. (10/28/2025) – In the final game of the 2025 season, the Nichols College Men's Soccer program travels to East Boston to face Suffolk University in a Conference of New England match. On a chilly October evening, Suffolk University broke through in the 57th and 86th minute to secure a 2-0 win over the Bison.

Nichols finishes the season with a 4-10-3 (2-7-1 CNE), while Suffolk climbs to 12-3-3 (7-2-1 CNE) with the win.

The game got off to a slow start, as both teams struggled to generate chances against their opponents. Nichols had four shots to Suffolk's seven in the first half, but neither team found the back of the net on those shots. The teams went into halftime at 0-0.

After a quiet first half from both teams, the Rams found success in the 56th minute, when Ford Lee converted off assists from Emiliano Esquer and Diego Pierantozzi to make it 1-0.

Suffolk held onto the momentum, creating chances and putting pressure on the Bison for the rest of the game. Their second goal of the game came in the 85th minute, as the Rams' Christian Gardner found the net from a Mohamed Mehaya assist, sealing the 2-0 result. The Bison fought hard until the end, but ultimately fell to Suffolk at East Boston Memorial Stadium.

Graduate student William Pugliese-Savage and seniors Carl Headges-Small, Derek Axon, Cody Porter, and Mick Tarozzi all competed in their final collegiate game on the night, capping off great careers with the Bison.

On the defensive end, Axon made 6 saves on the night, finishing off a great senior year that saw him win CNE Defensive Player of the Week twice (September 22nd and October 6th).

The match marked the completion of the Bison's 2025 campaign.
