73 Student-Athletes Land on 2024 CNE Fall Academic Team

2024 CNE Academic All-Conference Release

BEVERLY, Mass. (1/15/2025)
– The Conference of New England (CNE) has a announced their 2024 Fall Academic All-Conference list on Tuesday afternoon. In all, 808 student-athletes earned the honor across 11 institutions and the Bison saw 73 student-athletes make it.

In January and June each academic year, the Conference recognizes an Academic All-Conference Team. Each member institution is responsible for determining its qualified student-athletes. Criteria for recognition is: at least sophomore status athletically and academically with one academic year in residence at their current institution; hold a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher on a 4.0 scale; active member of a roster for a Conference-sponsored sport.

The January recognition covers men's and women's soccer, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's tennis, women's volleyball, field hockey, men's golf, and football. The June recognition includes men's and women's basketball, men's and women's ice hockey, baseball, men's and women's lacrosse, softball, men's tennis and men's and women's track and field student-athletes.

Graduate transfers, regardless of enrollment at their current institution, are eligible. First years, freshmen and undergraduate transfers in their first semester at their current institution are not eligible.

Football topped the list with 21 members on the list, women's soccer was second with 16 members, and men's soccer in third with eight members. Field Hockey and Women's Tennis were next with seven each, followed by Men's Golf and Women's Volleyball each with five and men's cross country with four.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE OF NEW ENGLAND
Originally founded in 1984 as the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) and reconstituted as the Conference of New England (CNE) in 2024, the CNE is an NCAA Division III athletic conference composed of 10 full member and five associate member institutions throughout the New England region. Its membership aims to provide student-athletes with a positive experience in their pursuit of excellence through high academic standards, quality competition and a meaningful student life. The Conference administers championships in 20 intercollegiate sports.
