BEVERLY, Mass. (9/3/2024) – Nichols College women's soccer freshman
Summer Bruno was named the Conference of New England rookie of the week, the conference announced Monday.
In her first collegiate game on Friday, Bruno tagged an assist on
Sophia Rodriguez's first collegiate goal to put the Bison up 2-0, which was eventually the tying goal in a 2-2 draw with Albertus Magnus to open the 2024 campaign.
Her efforts on Friday earned her first college start on Saturday in a 3-1 loss to Clark University. The Westerly, Rhode Island native played all 90 minutes in that match.
Summer is the first conference rookie of the week honoree for the women's soccer program since her teammate
Falyn Hunt did it back-to-back on October 11
th and 17
th 2022.
Bruno and the rest of the Bison host their home opener against The Russell Sage Gators tomorrow, Wednesday September 4
th at 3:30PM on the Nichols Soccer Field.
