NEWPORT, R.I. (9/25/2024) – The Nichols College field hockey team fell on Wednesday evening at the hands of the Salve Regina University Seahawks by a final score of 8-0.

Senior Sophie Venable made 15 saves in the loss for the Bison and junior Taylor Breen paced the Bison with two shots in the game.  

The Seahawks opened the scoring at the first quarter with a goal at the 5:14 mark. They doubled the lead with a goal 90 second later and took a 2-0 lead into the second quarter. Salve added three more in the second quarter and one if the third to lead 6-0 after 45 minutes of action.

Nichols will continue their road trip as they head to Endicott for the Conference of New England match up with the Gulls. That game is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m.
