Morvan and Quirrenbach Earn CNE Weekly Honors

BEVERLY, Mass. (9/23/2024) – After Saturday's 56-47 win over the United States Coast Guard Academy, the Nichols College football team claimed two Conference of New England weekly awards. Senior Jack Morvan was named Offensive Player of the Week and graduate student Quinton Quirrenbach was named Special Teams Player of the Week.

Morvan was excellent for the Bison as he finished the game with eight receptions for 139 yards and three touchdowns. Morvan instrumental in the Bison 56-47 win over Coast Guard, to hand the Bears their first loss of the season. Morvan's 139 yards is the most yards in a game this season for the CNE, and Morvan's three TDs is also a Conference game high this season.

Quirrenbach was the Bison's top returner in Saturday's win and played a major role with his 93-yard kick return for a touchdown, to spark the Bison comeback. Quirrenbach finished with three returns for 132 yards and one touchdown. On the offensive side of the ball, he finished the game with four catches for 100 yards, including a 75-yard reception.

Football claims their second straight Offensive Player of the Week honor, and this is their first Special Teams honoree since Colby Bernier earned the honor on 9/11/2023.

Nichols (2-1) will travel to Franklin, Mass. and face off against Dean College. Kick-off is set for 12:00 p.m.
