BEVERLY, Mass. (5/9/2024) – The 2024 Nichols College baseball team's season came to a close in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament on Thursday afternoon. The Bison lost 12-4 to No. 5 Western New England University Golden Bears in the elimination game.
Sophomore
Liam Flynn went 2-3 with a two-run home run to lead the Bison offensively. Graduate student
Jim Marasco hit a two-run home run as well for th Bison. Senior

Taj Vera Cruz also tallied hits for the Bison in the loss.
Just like game one of the tournament the Golden Bears jumped out to a 6-0 lead after the top of the second inning. Nichols responded with a two-run home run off the bat of Flynn to cut into the WNE lead. This as Flynn's third home run of the season. Marasco hit a home run over the left field fence in the bottom of the ninth inning, but the rally was too late and they fell 12-4 to the Golden Bears to be eliminated from the CCC Tournament.
Junior
John Steed (5-2) earned the loss for the Bison, throwing 1.2 innings and allowed six runs. Sophomore
Brandon Metivier threw 2.1 innings in relief, allowing one run and striking out three. Sophomore
Aidan Whitten, freshman
Jaden Mwangi, and graduate student
Patrick Sawyer all also made appearances in the game for Nichols.
Nichols (29-13, 9-5 CCC) end their historic season as the fourth seed in the CCC and set the all-time wins record with 29 wins.
