MADISON, N.J. (4/6/24) – The Nichols College women's golf posted a 10th place finish at the Garden State Collegiate Classic this weekend in their first competition of the spring.
Nichols completed the event with a team card of 874 (+298), finishing 22 strokes behind 9
th place finisher Cabrini University. The top finisher for the Bison was sophomore
Kaitlin Baca, who finished in tie for 30th with a team-best 190 (+46) on the par 72, 6,765-yard course.
Freshman
Maya Orbegozo finished 15 strokes back of Baca in a tie for 42
nd, carding a two-round total of 205 (+61). Senior
Claire Curry shaved six strokes off her first-round score to finish in 51
st with a 236 (+92), while freshman
Gabrielle Maranchie claimed 52
nd with a 244 (+100), improving by an astonishing 26 strokes in round two.
Graduate
Alaina Plourde fired a two-round score of 258 (+114) to finish 54
th individually. As a team, the Bison combined for 14 pars throughout the two rounds.
