MADISON, N.J. (4/6/24) – The Nichols College women's golf team sits in 10
th place after the first round of the Garden State Collegiate Classic, hosted by Drew University at Flanders Valley Golf Course.
The Bison opened the two-day, 36-hole event with a team score of 446 (+158).
Individually for the Bison, sophomore
Kaitlin Baca leads the way in 31
st with a 23-over-par 95 in the opening round. Freshman
Maya Orbegozo occupies 38
th out of the 56-player field, posting a first round score of 101 (+29). The two players combined for six pars throughout the day.
Senior
Claire Curry finished the day with 121 (+49) and is currently ranked 51
st individually. Graduate
Alaina Plourde holds 54
th with a 129 (+57), while freshman
Gabrielle Maranchie sits one stroke behind in 55
th with a 130 (+58).
The final round will be played on Saturday, April 6
th with tee times starting at Noon.
