DUDLEY, Mass. (4/25/2024) – The Nichols College men's lacrosse team is set to face the Wentworth Institute of Technology Leopards in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) First Round on Saturday at 1 PM at Sweeney Field in Boston, MA. The Bison are seeded number five and the Leopards four for the conference tournament.

How to Watch: Live Stats | Watch

Last Trip to the Postseason: Last season, the Bison also started the postseason as the number five seed. They headed to Roger Williams for a tilt with the Hawks. The Bison upset the home side in the matchup 6-4 thanks to three goals from then-graduate student Cian Keohane and 7 saves from Brady Morgan. In the semi-final match, the Bison bowed out following a 3-18 loss to one-seed Endicott College in Beverly.

2023-24 Season Series: The Bison headed to Sweeney Field to face the Leopards just this last week, as they fell in a back-and-forth overtime game to the home side. Wentworth edged Nichols 8-7 in that contest. The Bison were led in that outing by senior Colby Gillis who potted three goals, followed closely by team-leading scorer sophomore Conor Doherty with two. The Bison scored in the last minute of regulation to send the game to overtime, before they conseeded in double OT.

Who to Watch: Doherty leads the team in scoring with 25 goals and 6 assists for 31 points. The UMass Lowell transfer has made his presence known since joining the Bison this season. He also sits 10th in the CCC in shots per game with 114 total.

He is followed closely by Gillis who joined the 100-assist club earlier this season. The 2023 CCC Third-Team honoree has contributed across all areas of the Bison offensive this season contributing 13 goals and 17 assists for 30 points.

Junior Dylan DeRubeis is no stranger to CCC post-season pressure as he contributed with a goal and assist in the Bison's games last season when he was just a sophomore. This season he has started all 13 games he appeared in, scoring 18 goals, and adding 8 assists.

Between the pipes for the Bison will likely be junior Brady Morgan who has started every contest this year for the Bison recording over 900 minutes of play. He has racked up an impressive stat line of 8.14 GAA and a .622 save percentage, which is good for the best season of his collegiate career. He also ranks 1st in the CCC for both categories.

The Leopards are led by sophomore Tyler Longo who has 51 points on the year (26 G, 25 A), and midfielder Colin Ocampo who has 45 points (22 G, 23 A). Junior Tom Gardner has started all games between the pipes for the Leopards. He holds a 8.87 GAA and .601 SV%.
