Springfield, Mass. (4/10/2024) – The Nichols College Men's Tennis Team took a break from their CCC matches for a non-conference game with the Springfield College Pride on Wednesday afternoon. The Bison extended their win streak to six as they took home a 7-2 win.
With the win, the Bison move to 8-7 (4-0 CCC) on the year. The Bison hold the all-time record on the Pride 5-1.
After doubles play, the Bison were ahead 2-1, this was by way of wins at number two and three doubles. At number two, the duo of Richard Hartmann Zuzio and Caio Dieckmann earned the 8-3 win, before Trevor Schwarzmann and Enzo Matos Balleux continued their winning ways with an 8-7 victory at number three.
In singles action, the Bison won in straight sets at one (Leon Zeis 7-6, 6-0), three (Enzo Matos Balleux 6-3, 6-3), four (Kerem Subasi 6-3, 6-3) and six (Oscar Junyent (6-2, 6-3). Richard Hartmann Zuzio needed a tiebreak set, but he got the job done at number two to secure the point for the Bison.
The Bison continue to battle for another Commonwealth Coast Conference championship as they play host to Western New England University on Saturday, April 13th, that match is set to begin at 1 PM at the Robinson Tennis Courts in Dudley.
