DUDLEY, Mass. (2/22/2024) - Nichols College eSports Head Coach Tyler Dunn won his 100
th win as Head Coach on Wednesday night after Nichols won a double header Against Butler and Louisiana Tech. Coach Dunn took the helm of the program in 2022 after graduating Nichols with his Batchelor of Science in Business Administration in Management and Economics and currently is pursuing his Master of Science in Organizational Leadership and Master of Business Administration from Nichols. Since taking over he has had 2 Conference Titles in Rocket League, and 9 playoff runs across Rocket League, Counter Strike and Overwatch. During his time Dunn has expanded the team into Overwatch, Counter Strike, and this season Call of Duty with Valorant planned to be added for the 2025 season.

Nichols College Call of Duty was the preliminary match of the evening, facing off against Butler University and in a romping the Call of Duty squad put down the Bulldogs with ease in a 3-0 sweep. The squad was led by Team Captain
Damon Lavin, joined by
Samuel Calini, Colby Allen, and
Dolan Cassone. On Map 1 Skidrow (Hardpoint) – Nichols make quick work of the Butler Bulldogs 250-122 with Colby "Sundown" Allen topping the kill chart. On Map 2 Karachi (Search and Destroy) – Nichols displayed an outstanding combination of both tactical and mechanical skill to dominate through this SnD winning the map 6-1 with Damon "Cable" Lavin topping the chart. Nichols cruised through Butler with 3-0 sweep with a high-quality slaying performance from Samuel "kfrost" Calini. Nichols College Call of Duty is now 5-1 for the season. As they look forward to their ECAC match this Friday against a strong ECPI Rams roster, the Bison look to continue their dominance.

Nichols College Rocket League Varsity B Team was the main event of the evening and was able to cruise to a 4-0 victory over LA Tech. Winning Game 1 (4-1), Game 2 (4-3 going into overtime) Game 3 (2-1) going into overtime and Game 4 (6-2). The Nichols Squad was led by Team Captain Nicholas "Nick" Federico, Brennan "Bren" Ogert, and Joseph "Zephh" Pieczynski. After an intense series by the Nichols Varsity B team, Nicholas "Nick" Federico achieved a total of 6 Goals, 22 Shots, 4 saves and 3 assists. Brennan "Bren" Ogert totaled 6 goals, 13 shots, 6 saves and 4 assists. Joseph "Zephh" Pieczynski with 4 goals, 10 shots, 3 saves and no assists. After last night's sweep this moves the Varsity B team to a 2-4 scoreline for the season. Looking to bounce back from the 1-4 now 2-4 season, the Varsity B team plays D'Youville University on Monday looking to make it a 3-4 season. With eight more matches to go the Bison are looking to push back into playoff contention!

Overwatch playing Army West Point tonight at 9pm and Rocket League Varsity A taking on Webber State at 7pm. They are joined on Friday by the also undefeated Counter Strike squad as they take on Stockton at 7pm and Call of Duty who take on East Coast Polytechnic. Rocket League Varsity B Team takes the pitch on Monday with a match against D'Youville University.
