HARRISVILLE, R.I. (2/17/2024) – The Nichols College women's hockey team's 2023-24 season came to a close on Saturday afternoon, as they lost a nail-bitter 2-1, to Salve Regina University from June Rockwell Levy Rink. The Bison honored their five seniors pregame.

Kayla Currin score the lone goal for the Bison. Junior
Anamary Pulgar stopped 22 shots in the loss for the Bison. Pulgar climbed into the top 10 in season save percentage with a .913, tying her eighth all-time.
Salve Regina opened the scoring at the 3:27 mark of the opening frame. Nichols responded well and pulled even just over seven minutes later thanks to Currin. Salve Regina one an offensive zone draw, but Currin blocked the point-to-point pass and went the other way. With a breakaway from the red line, Currin fired a wrist shot and beat the net minder for a 1-1 tie. This was Currin's fourth goal of the season.
The Seahawks grabbed the lead once again at the 13:34 mark of the second period. This goal turned out to be the eventual game winner. Nichols continued to up the pressure but were unable to find the back of the net and dropped their final game of the season, 2-1.
Nichols went 0-4 on the power-play and hit a post, while the penalty-kill went 6-6. The Bison were outshot 24-18 for the game.
With the loss, the Bison's season comes to an end.
