Vitti, Revolus Set Program Records Against Endicott

BEVERLY, Mass (11/2/2024) – Graduate Student Josh Vitti set a program record on Saturday afternoon from Hempstead Stadium, as the Nichols College football team faced off against #11/12 Endicott College, in a 50-10 loss. Vitti becomes the program record holder of the most receiving yards with 2,347 yards so far.

Freshman Will Migliaccio made his first collegiate start for the Bison, throwing 19-30 for 239 yards passing in the loss. Senior Jack Morvan recorded seven receptions for 121 yards to lead all receivers. Vitti finished with seven catches for 76 yards in the game. Sophomore John Gianibas rushed for 17 yards and a touchdown.

Vitti entered the game needing 32 yards to tie the program record and his 76 yards makes the all-time leader. Vitti passes Hall of Famer Ben Karter who recorded 2,303 yards during his 2000-03 career.

Senior Derrick Revolus recorded a team high seven solo tackles and also blocked a kick as well. Senior Shane Roberts recorded eight total tackles and sophomore Bryce Prince posted four solo tackles for the second most on the team.

Revolus's fourth blocked kick of the season and of his career set a new program record, previus set in 2010 when Jonathon Merjuste recorded three career kicks.

The Gulls scored a touchdown at the 8:18 mark for the game for a 7-0 lead. Nichols responded with a long drive that stalled instead the redzone and the Bison settled for a freshman Nick Foynes 26-yard field goal and trailed 7-3. Back-to-back Endicott touchdowns to grab a 21-3 Bison lead.

Nichols cut into the lead thanks to a five-yard rush from Gianibas to make it 21-10 as they headed into halftime. The Gulls came out of the second half flying and scored 29 unanswered points to secure a 50-10 win over the Bison. The Bison did blocked a field goal in the fourth quarter thanks to Revolus and senior Jose Lopez scooped up the block kick and was tackled before reaching the endzone on a return.

Nichols (3-5, 0-3 CNE) will look for their first conference win as they welcome Curry College to Vendetti Field on Saturday, November 9th. Kickoff is set for 12:00 p.m.
